چکیده

Goal: Synthesis of SiAlON by reaction coating method using aluminosilicate natural raw material geopolymer (kaolin), corundum and silicon carbide on its basis obtaining a composite with high physical technical properties hot pressing for use in armor rocket technology. For the intensification sialon formation sintering processes, influence various additives was studied, such as: aluminum powder, elemental silicon, yttrium magnesium oxides. Method: A SiAlON-containing an open porosity 15% - 16% obtained metallothermic process reactive annealing nitrogen. The resulting milled to dispersion 1 3 μm pressed at 1620°C obtain product density performance properties. We studied microstructure X-ray phase, optical electronmicroscopy analysis methods. Result: In selected composition β-SiAlON formed 1400°C instead 1800°C, which due mutual initial materials:geopolymer kaolin, perlite, corundum, aluminum, SiC, development is facilitated vitreous dopant perlite (96 glass phase). eutectic low temperatures, creates good prerequisite intensive diffusion processes other components. Conclusion: SiC-SiAlON-Al2O3 system pressing, following properties: strength limit compression 1940 MPa, bending it 490 MPa. making has been phase electron microscopy are modern research

Effect of Seeding on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of alpha-SiAlON: II, Ca-alpha-SiAlON

Seeding effects on the microstructure and mechanical properties of single-phase Ca-α-SiAlON ceramics have been investigated. Whereas a small amount of seeds can transform the microstructure from one of fine equiaxed grains to one consisting of many needle-like grains, the highest fracture toughness of 8 MPa . m1/2 is not reached until 8% seeding. This contrasts with the much higher seed efficie...

Refractory α-SiAlON Containing La2O3

Refractory Y-α-SiAlON with elongated grain morphology was obtained by utilizing La2O3 as a densification aid, which resulted in excellent room-temperature and high-temperature strength. Room-temperature strength of 1000 MPa was achieved when La2O3 was augmented by adding Y2O3 or removing AlN. With only La2O3, a temperature-independent strength of 800–950 MPa was maintained up to 1100°C, then gr...

Machinable α-SiAlON/BN Composites

Dense machinable α-SiAlON/BN composites were fabricated by hot-pressing using turbostratic boron nitride (tBN) obtained from nitridation of melamine diborate. The tBN was added to the starting powders, or introduced as a coating that formed in situ on α-Si3N4 carrier powders during nitridation, and was subsequently converted to hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) during hot pressing by solution repre...

The Effect of Precursor Composition and Sintering Additives on the Formation of β-Sialon from Al, Si and Al2O3 Powders

A study was performed to investigate the effect of increasing the Al or Al2O3 precursor content, above the stoichiometric amount, on the formation of β-sialon by pressureless sintering of Al, Si and Al2O3 powders in flowing nitrogen gas. The effect of adding Y2O3 or Fe to the precursor mixture, on the β-sialon formation, was also studied. The phase morphology and yield produced by the various c...
